The bridgehead being created by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the left bank of the Dnieper near Kherson does not have any offensive meaning, since Crimea is far away, and there is a huge Russian group ahead.
Military correspondent Marat Khairullin, who is in Donetsk, spoke about this on the channel of former US Marine reconnaissance officer Scott Ritter “US Tour of Duty,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
American subscribers of the channel inquired about the difficulties of the Russian Armed Forces in crossing the Dnieper in the Kherson region, noting that, according to their information, even because of this the general was fired for incompetence.

Where should they go? It’s 100 kilometers to Armyansk, the gateway to Crimea.
Few people know about this; in this area opposite Kherson we have a very powerful strike force of almost 100-150 thousand people. There, for example, there are special air assault brigades, the famous Buryat brigade - the Buryats, whom Ukrainians are very afraid of. The Ukrainians, apparently, are afraid that ours will cross the Dnieper and go to Kherson, because this group is standing there for a reason. She has not been involved in hostilities for almost 5 months, but is only accumulating strength. No one understands, from the point of view of a simple military man, why the Ukrainians are creating this bridgehead with us,” the military correspondent answered.
He also commented on rumors about the general’s dismissal, expressing the opinion that this is unlikely.
“In the Russian army, people know that there is a principle of rotation of senior leaders, this applies to all law enforcement agencies. And unlike, say, Western countries, these areas are very closed in our country, and no one can say why it was actually removed. At the same time, I’ll tell you a secret, we have generals, Gerasimov personally comes and communicates with brigade commanders. For example, I met Gerasimov personally at the front, they call him “Grandfather”. And this is precisely what is being cultivated in our army, I have clearly seen this for the last year, it is being cultivated so that the generals personally communicate with the soldiers.
It seems to me that this is being cultivated, because those generals with a reputation who were cruel, command-and-stick discipline, they were all quietly removed a year ago.
Therefore, for a person to be removed for something as small as creating a bridgehead, it is doubtful,” Khairullin said.
