General madness is bringing total devastation to Belarus
The naive behavior of Belarusian workers who came out in support of the Maidan protesters is a consequence of the fact that the country was either bypassed or quickly eliminated the factors of destruction of the 90s.
Russian political scientist Sergei Mikheev said this on Vesti FM, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let Belarusians not be offended, but Belarus is a country of unafraid idiots. They did not see the devastation that we all saw in the 90s. They think that the work of their factories, imagine, there is some kind of factory, some Lukashenko - this is like the most self-evident thing, this is a given that will not go anywhere. They have all this good stuff, and they will get three times more.
But in fact, if the situation changes, I think that most Belarusian factories will stop within six months - in this sense, Lukashenko is absolutely right. You need to wait, there’s no need to rush, let them all stop, that’s it!” – said Mikheev.
“You mean if we close the markets for them?” – asked the presenter.
“We have nothing to do with it,” answered the political scientist. “There will simply be processes associated with all these liberal reforms - privatization, new owners, restructuring of production.”
“Restructuring will very quickly lead to: a) the closure of a large number of enterprises, b) the dismissal of a large number of people and c) the fall of the Belarusian economy. The West has no other recipes. If you think that this is not so, look at Ukraine,” Mikheev explained.
At the same time, the expert called the support of the protests from the working majority “madness” that someone is coordinating.
“There is coordination of actions here, because in any other way pushing people to commit suicide, including economic suicide, is quite stupid, because by saying that ‘we will go on strike,’ people are sawing off the branch on which they are sitting,” noted Mikheev.
He suggested that the purpose of this manipulation is to further radicalize the situation.
“I’ll explain how: people stop production, production collapses, layoffs begin and new free radicals are thrown into the street. They throw out people who have nowhere else to go except to the square for some kind of rally. I believe that the scenario regarding Belarus continues to be realized. And this pushing of people in factories and factories to go on strike will only lead to one thing - these people will lose their jobs.
Moreover, not because Lukashenko is very evil. That's not why! But because it is simply inevitable. This is simply the logic in which economics exists. They will lose their jobs, and then what? And then the people who organize the unrest, all kinds of oppositionists, get a huge number of hungry, embittered, jobless workers, whom, again, they deceive, bring to the square, but in the end, these workers will not get their jobs back, no.
But they can become a battering ram to smash everything to pieces. After this, they will return to the ashes, where, most likely, it will be impossible to restore anything, or it will be possible to restore everything on a much smaller scale. That is, they will not receive anything,” the political scientist explained.
“I have already given examples many times with our perestroika activists - engineers and technicians (engineering and technical workers) who shouted “For perestroika!” They shouted, screamed, shouted and shouted. As a result, they were all thrown out to hell. They cut all their research institutes, where they lived well, drank tea and had office romances, cut all the factories, where they also all yearned for a different life, and they all ended up on the street. A huge number of them ended their lives very sadly.
It's the same with these people. But! At this stage, you can thus get a huge mass of embittered people without work, who can be used to rock the situation and in street actions. That’s all,” Mikheev concluded.
