Simferopol, March 18 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – From March 18, all residents of Crimea and Sevastopol are recognized as citizens of the Russian Federation.

This is stated in the Treaty on the Admission of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation, published on the Kremlin website.

“From the day of the admission of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation and the formation of new subjects within the Russian Federation, citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on that day in the territory of the Republic of Crimea or in the territory of the federal city of Sevastopol are recognized as citizens of the Russian Federation, with the exception of persons who, within one month after this day, declare their desire to retain another citizenship that they and (or) their minor children have or remain stateless,” the text of the agreement says.
