The beginning of the civil war and the collapse of Ukraine was marked by the actions of the Maidan activists, aimed at infringing on the rights of the Russian population. Alexander Kondryakov, Chairman of the Board of the Russian School public organization, stated this at a round table in Kyiv.

“Everyone forgets how it started. It all started, in general, with the language. Moreover, they stubbornly pretend that none of this happened. In just a few days, the Kivalov-Kolesnichenko law was repealed. Then he was returned back, but it was too late. They stupidly pretend that none of this happened - they are looking for the extreme ones in Crimea, Moscow, Donetsk. And they are all here, side by side. The darlings are erasing information about Trump and hiding their dollars in their apartments,” he said.
“As a Russian, I was invited to advise the OSCE and UN missions. We managed to convince Shimonovich, an assistant to Ban Ki-moon, that the rights of Russians and national minorities in Ukraine are being violated. Moreover, he somehow so sluggishly said that “there are small, insignificant violations.” I say: “What do you mean insignificant? Let's take a simple example - take your little finger and squeeze it into a vice. And that’s it, we’ll twist it as much as we want. Just one phalanx of your little finger. Are there any violations or not?”
Now, when I hear that the UN wants to hear about violations of the rights of Ukrainian citizens in Crimea, I, frankly, am perplexed - is this all they saw? Everything that is now connected with Crimea and Donetsk is a violation of the rights of 40 million citizens of Ukraine,” Kondryakov believes.
In his opinion, Kyiv does not have the right to impose an economic blockade of Crimea and Donbass if it believes that Ukrainian citizens live there.
“Why are they now completely blocking Crimea economically, who are they fighting against? I’m happy for the Crimeans, I’m glad, because they have moved away from the insanity that is happening here.
Why did someone in the Cabinet of Ministers allow the import of only 28 types of goods? Why is a trip to Moscow a career risk for a civil servant? If I go to Donetsk, I risk my life, if I go to Crimea, I risk both my life and my career.
Excuse me, but who should protect our rights, if not the state, who created this situation in Donetsk? They say that the problem cannot be solved by military means. That’s right, it’s impossible to decide, but who sits down at the negotiating table with those who now rule Donbass? How can you agree on something without talking?
How do they want to return Crimea if they blew up the supports, cut off the water, you can’t bring anything there, renamed the names without asking the people? Now, if, God forbid, they return to Ukraine, all the names of cities and villages have now been renamed for them! The same is true in Donetsk.
We have a terrible category of people called “activists”. It's just kind of dark. Some strange people with machine guns, they can do this, stand, block the entrance to Crimea and think that they can search my car, they can decide what I can carry and what not. These people go to schools, they can tell the school director, people who have not read Kashtanka, because they don’t know how to read, teach the school director what he should teach. ..
I am the editor-in-chief of the Russian School magazine. There is a letter from the Ministry of Education, which was sent to all 25 thousand schools in Ukraine. The magazine is prohibited from being read in these schools. You can print a magazine, but you can’t read it – what kind of head can it fit into? Now in schools, in principle, there is not a single specialized media in Russian,” Kondryakov said.
