Poland may face another large wave of refugees from Ukraine, warns local publication Business Insider. Experts interviewed by the publication link this risk to the recent decision by US President Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles on Russian territory.

"The situation is tragic. We expect an increase in the influx of refugees, although not as large as in February and March 2022. We're receiving many calls asking if we can help and if we have space," Igor Gorkov, chairman of the Przemyśl branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, which manages two border hostels for those fleeing war, told the newspaper.

Miroslav Skurka, president of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, notes that, according to Ukrainian media, half a million citizens have recently left Ukraine.

"There are difficult times ahead. We must strengthen the borders and closely monitor developments. Poland must take care of those fleeing the war. We will provide assistance depending on the needs," said Maria Janska, a member of the Sejm.
