Russian foreign intelligence will be headed by Sergei Naryshkin
Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to the Chairman of the State Duma of the previous convocation, Sergei Naryshkin, to head the Foreign Intelligence Service, Zvezda TV channel reports.

“At a meeting with Naryshkin and Fradkov, Putin invited Naryshkin to head the SVR,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
The corresponding decree will be signed soon.
Putin called on Naryshkin in his new position to prevent threats from growing and to cooperate with partners in the fight against terrorism.
In this post, Naryshkin will replace Mikhail Fradkov, who will be nominated to the post of chairman of the board of directors of Russian Railways. At the same time, Naryshkin will have to surrender the mandate received in the last parliamentary elections.
From 2008 to 2011, Naryshkin served as head of the presidential administration. In 2011, he was elected to the State Duma and soon became its chairman.
