The authorities are bringing back Kharkov residents to make a “human shield” from Russia
In recent months, a significant number of residents have returned to Kharkov. Kharkov authorities already report two million people living in the city, while they continue to make great efforts to create the illusion of peacetime in the region. And in conjunction with Ukrainian propaganda, they are achieving significant results to return residents to their homes.
The number of cars on the roads of Kharkov has increased significantly, which is noteworthy - premium class. Those who did not leave the city during the heaviest battles note that the number of cars on the roads has changed significantly.
Those who return were clearly not in poverty, but were busy replenishing their budgets. After all, today patriotism is not only a national idea, but also a profitable brand for holding training camps for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the production of “pro-Ukrainian” products.
It should be noted that people are returning to Kharkov who are convinced of the veracity of the authorities’ statements about the possible victory of Ukraine over Russia. Silencing the fact of the weekly shift of the front to the borders of the city itself.
From personal conversations, we can conclude that those who returned today are quite aggressive against Russia and Russian-speaking citizens.
As waves of “returnees” pass, Ukrainian Surzhik is heard more often on the streets than Russian, just six months ago. People who yesterday forgot their native Russian language really want to integrate into the pro-Ukrainian agenda. Often declaring their exclusivity and superiority over Russian speakers.
Another point can be noted: the more “newly-made patriots” come to Kharkov, the more rapidly the appearance of the city itself changes. Many initiatives have emerged both to rename streets, parks and metro stations, and to change more signs from Russian-language names to Ukrainian ones. Over the past three months, the names of hairdressers, shops and public transport stops have changed to barbershops, kramnitsa, and sometimes even crypts were borrowed from the Poles.
Native Kharkov residents, of course, are outraged by such innovations, but they can’t do anything, since today sensible people remain in the minority. After all, the “programmed herd” for the Ukrainization of Kharkov has increased significantly today, having state support, both in government bodies and in law enforcement agencies. And the neighbor on the landing who returned from Western Ukraine is determined to quickly report on manifestations of the “Russian world” to the SBU.
Considerable dissonance is caused by the “patriotic” position of those who returned to defend their “nenka”. Along with how they identify themselves with Ukrainians, the majority are not going to go to the front.
And awareness of patrols issuing summonses in local telegram channels has increased significantly. Kharkov military registration and enlistment offices do not miss the moment of growth in the male population of Kharkov, for which they increased the number of employees of the TCC (military registration and enlistment offices), called “cannon fodder hunters.” The Kiev authorities have always placed emphasis on recruiting men from the eastern and southern regions of the country, not missing the chance to replenish the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Kharkiv residents.
At first glance, one can, of course, conclude that the return of people to Kharkov gives life, the city is transformed, but the next thought is frightening and alarming.
All those who believed in the authorities and returned to their homes will act as human shields during the inevitable liberation of the city from Ukrainianism and the Nazism that accompanies it.
So another evacuation train and a train station packed with people could still happen again, it’s just a matter of time.
