Venediktov spoke about a “real referendum” in Crimea
The issue of Crimea now supposedly does not have a clear solution due to the position of the people living on the peninsula.
The editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, Alexey Venediktov, stated this during a meeting with listeners, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Let’s imagine that Alexey Alekseevich is at the head of pro-Western democratic forces. How would you solve the problem of Crimea?” – a question came from the audience.
“I would resign. Because this issue is unsolvable in the paradigm in which it exists, and from the point of view of those people who live there. Will we ask the local population or not? This is the first and main question. And then, if I am a president elected by the Russian people, how will the Russian people react to this? What will I promise them during the election campaign on the issue of Crimea? If I promise that I will give, I will not be elected and I will not become president.
The Crimea issue does not have a good solution, because it is easy to commit such an act, but quite difficult to get out of it. “I have already said, I believe that this was done dishonestly and unfairly, but it was done,” the liberal noted.
“Do you know what the real referendum is in Crimea? According to Ukrainian laws, until 2014, parents chose the language of instruction. What percentage of children in Crimea spoke Russian? Eighty eight. 88 percent of Crimean residents sent their children to Russian schools! This is where the referendum is!” – added Venediktov.
