US vassals are powerless to prevent Nord Stream 2
Germany wants energy independence from the United States, and therefore will oppose attempts to block the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
This statement was made by journalist and political scientist Pavel Svyatenkov on Sputnik radio, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“For Germany, which is the main lobbyist for Nord Stream 2 in Europe, all this is unprofitable, because it wants to have a certain autonomy in the energy sector. It is Germany that blocks all attempts to ban Nord Stream or impose sanctions. A couple of days ago there was news that Washington informed Berlin that it would not impose sanctions against Nord Stream 2. This is evidence of Berlin’s powerful influence as a lobbyist on Washington,” the expert noted.
Also, the presenter recalled Estonia’s recent statements regarding the blocking of Nord Stream 2.
“The statement of the Baltic states, like before this statement of Poland, is a statement of junior allies, vassals of the United States and Britain. The meaning of these statements is quite clear - maybe it will be possible to block the flow after all,” said Svyatenkov.
