Washington Declares 'Victory' in Syria
The US won a victory in Syria, keeping its troops there.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated this in an interview with Australia's Lowy Institute, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"This happened partly because of direct Israeli actions, partly because of the US response. And partly because of our actions that we took from the very beginning of the conflict, starting on October 7. And all this happened without dragging the US into the war. In my view, the US simply supported its friends. Our enemies in the region are weakened, and we have an opportunity to work for a better future in the Middle East.
And the United States will not be drawn into a Middle East war under President Biden,” Sullivan said.
He believes that Israel, Saudi Arabia and even the Palestinians, who will now “be part of the US vision,” also benefit from the change of power in Syria.
