A rabbi from Israel was brutally beaten in Zhitomir - the victim underwent two operations
In Zhitomir, on the station square, unknown persons brutally beat Rabbi Mendel Deutsch. The victim is currently undergoing treatment in Israel.

The Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine, Moshe Reuven Azman, announced this on Facebook.
He also expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian neurosurgeons who performed two operations, after which it became possible to transport Deutsch to Israel.
“I would like to express my deep gratitude and blessing to Dr. Eduard Mayberg, who organized the best Ukrainian neurosurgeons, as well as to the director of the Institute of Neurosurgery, Professor Pedachenko, whose top specialists performed two complex surgeries, thanks to which Rabbi Deutsch’s condition stabilized and it became possible to transport him to Israel,” he wrote.
In a comment to the local publication Zhitomir.info, the police said that it was impossible to say unequivocally about the beating for the purpose of robbery.
“The only thing that is known for certain is that the beaten foreigner did not have personal belongings, in particular, documents and an iPhone mobile phone.” There is no information about the victim’s possession or stolen money,” the police said and added that for now the crime is classified as robbery.
