Zaporozhye, January 31 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – In Zaporozhye, utility workers installed a protective structure around the Lenin monument.

According to the local publication Zanoza, sections of the fence were brought to Lenin Square in a KamAZ truck, which was then assembled using a crane. Law enforcement officers are going to take the monument under round-the-clock security.
“We urge young people to treat this situation with understanding, to take into account that not all Cossacks, especially older people, approve of the decision to demolish monuments, which for many years were considered one of the symbols of our city,” said Andrey Dolinny, deputy head of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Earlier, activists of the Zaporozhye organization “Forces of the Nation” announced that they were going to demolish the monument to Lenin on February 1.
As PolitNavigator reported, pro-Ukrainian activists dressed the Lenin monument in Zaporozhye in embroidered shirts, thus hoping to soften those who want to demolish it.
