The Ukrainian Armed Forces decided to prepare anti-aircraft missile units to repel massive air strikes
For the first time since 1992, Ukraine began preparing anti-aircraft missile units to repel a series of massive air strikes.

This was stated by the head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmitry Karpenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“An important thing in the current process of combat training is that we have begun to prepare anti-aircraft missile units to repel a series of massive enemy air strikes. This has not been practiced since 1992,” Karpenko said.
This year, the anti-aircraft missile forces plan to conduct almost 120 command and staff tactical exercises and exercises. Three tactical live-fire exercises will also take place. “Even units armed with stationary S-300PT systems have resumed the practice of performing mobile operations. In 2017 alone, about ten such marches have already been carried out,” Kapenko said.
He also noted that in July, joint Bulgarian-Ukrainian air defense unit live-fire exercises “Seyer Guardian-2017” will take place at the Shabla training ground.
“As part of this event, we strive not only to achieve tactical compatibility with NATO air defense units, but also to carry out practical firing with S-300 air defense systems,” the Ministry of Defense official said.
In addition, control flight tests of anti-aircraft guided missiles will be carried out in the Kherson region, where tactical exercises with live firing of units armed with the Buk-M1 air defense system will also take place, noted the head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
