The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must adopt a resolution on non-recognition of the results of the presidential elections in Belarus.
Kira Rudyk, a PolitNavigator correspondent, reported this from the parliamentary rostrum of the Golos faction.
According to Rudyk, repressions are taking place in Belarus and there is no democracy, therefore Ukraine should recognize the country’s presidential elections as invalid.
“How do we react as a country, why can’t Ukraine’s position on this matter be heard? Unfortunately, the president did not say anything clear, but you and I - the Verkhovna Rada, we were elected by free people in a free country, they gave us a vote so that we could speak on their behalf, so why are we silent?
I want to appeal to the deputies from the Servant of the People faction - yes, the president did not express a clear position on Belarus, but you do not represent the president in parliament, you represent the Ukrainians. Ask them what exactly do you represent - support for a tyrant or freedom?.. The position of the Golos party is clear - elections did not take place in Belarus and we, as the Verkhovna Rada, must clearly and unanimously state this,” said Rudyk.
