At the Temple of the Holy Spirit they said goodbye to representatives of the people's militia Vladimir Kukhno, Vyacheslav Rudakov and Alexander Parkhomenko, as well as Anatoly Kurochka, a civilian who burned in a car that was fired upon.
The dead were seen off to the cries of “Glory to the heroes of Donbass,” “Victory will be ours,” and “Fascism will not pass.”
Both ordinary residents of Slavyansk and those with whom they participated in self-defense came to say goodbye to them.
“Our commander – his call sign was “Bear” – died near Slavyansk while covering the retreat of his group. He is a Crimean, he was 37 years old. He left behind two children. When he was appointed to command the DPR special forces, he did not, as often happens with new commanders, turn his nose up to the top. He became attached to us with his soul, and we to him,” the Kedr self-defense fighter shared his memories.
“He showed the best human qualities. When the group retreated, he could choose anyone to provide cover. But he himself remained to cover the group’s retreat, thus committing a heroic act,” Kedr told how his comrade died.
As Navigator reported, during the next phase of the ATO, four people from the Slavic self-defense and two civilians died - Anatoly Kurochka and Irina Boevets, who was shot by a sniper in her own apartment.
