In Sevastopol, alternative sources of electricity will provide 2/3 of the city's needs
Sevastopol, September 09 (PolitNavigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – In Sevastopol, in the event of a complete interruption of electricity supply from Ukraine, 217 diesel generators and 3 gas turbine stations with a total capacity of 105 MW will be used as backup sources.

Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Andrey Atamantsev told reporters about this on Tuesday.
Sevastopol's daily demand for electricity is 150-160 MW, peak loads exceed 200 MW/day.
“There are 217 generators on the city’s life support systems: in hospitals, orphanages, boiler houses, pumping stations, and gas distribution stations. They generate a daily power of 30 MW and are capable of operating without replenishing diesel fuel for up to eight hours,” Atamantsev said.
According to him, to provide the residents of Sevastopol, “we have three gas turbine stations of 25 megawatts each, which make it possible to provide the city’s areas with electricity during rolling blackouts.”
Complete independence from electricity supplies from Ukraine will be achieved in 2 years, after the construction of a new thermal power plant.
