The first “Ministry of Happiness” was created in Russia
The new governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, proposed dividing the local Ministry of Labor and Social Protection into two: the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Family Policy and Social Welfare.
This was reported by the website Vostok.Today, as reported by a correspondent from PolitNavigator.

“In essence, this is the Ministry of Happiness. The symbolic designation of optimism in the Ministry of Social Welfare and Family Policy is important to me. Not social protection, not solving social problems, but creating a prosperous society and a prosperous family policy,” Solodov said.
The governor’s initiative did not meet with support from residents of the peninsula, who left many sarcastic comments on social networks.
Mikhail Puchkovsky, a deputy of the Legislative Duma of the Kamchatka Territory, believes that by reforming the ministry, the local government has actually abandoned its mission of social protection of people.
“Previously, a family that found itself in a difficult situation could ask for help and demand it. Now what does such a family turn to? For happiness?” said Puchkovsky.
He believes that the plot with the “Ministry of Happiness” is a manifestation of the PR of the new young governor, who was educated at the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris. The deputy is concerned with the fate of the region after all the key posts in the government were also given to PR people.
In 2016, after a trip to the United Arab Emirates, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko proposed creating a Ministry of Happiness in Russia.
