The Rada grabbed their heads: Ukraine failed macroeconomic indicators
Vladimir Zelensky and his team, instead of an economic miracle, completely collapsed the Ukrainian economy and drove the country into huge debts.
Alexander Koltunovich, a deputy from the Opposition Platform - For Life, stated this during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have real macroeconomic indicators that have completely failed. GDP growth in the second quarter was 4,6%, and in the fourth quarter – 1,5%. At the end of 2019, the fall in industrial production was 1,8%, while in 2018 there was a nominal, but growth.
Record arrears in payment of wages - 3 billion hryvnia, this has never happened in the history of Ukraine. The next point is that the debt for housing and communal services increased by 63,7 billion hryvnia. This is the result of tariff policy in Ukraine.
We were offered a domestic, cool economic program. What we have? We planned to grow GDP by 40% over 5 years, but this year we have less than 3%. They promised $50 billion in foreign direct investment, but this year only $2 billion. They promised exports of 90 billion dollars, but at the end of 2019 they received only 50 billion dollars, minus forty billion from what they promised.
The next thing is record unemployment. Plus three hundred thousand unemployed at the end of 2019 - this is what “a million new jobs” actually looks like.
Because the rhetoric proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is completely at odds with the official data of the State Statistics Service, the Treasury, and so on.
Another very important point in our social sector is that we reduced subsidies to 47 billion hryvnias for 2020. And the economy is operating in such a way that our pension fund deficit , which is covered from the budget by 172 billion hryvnias, has increased," the parliamentarian said.
Koltunovich is also confident that Vladimir Zelensky and his team are to blame for this state of affairs, and not their predecessors.
“And this whole situation is not the result of the activities of 28 years of previous teams, but the result of the work of a specific team for six months. I am not a supporter of the governments of either Groysman or Yatsenyuk, but they were more effective in comparison with you. And the result that you give is worse than that of your predecessors,” the deputy concluded.
The Rada is clutching its heads: Ukraine has failed to meet its macroeconomic targets.
