Collectible dollars with Russian Crimea go on sale
The Russian "Krayinvestbank", whose founder is the government of the Krasnodar Territory, sells the Niue "Map of Crimea" collectible dollar in its branches.
The bank reports this on its official Facebook page.
“A unique coin in the shape of the Crimean Peninsula will be an excellent addition to any collection, an interesting gift or just a beautiful souvenir. The “Map of Crimea” coin is made of 925 silver, the minting quality is proof, the denomination is 1 Niue dollar. You can purchase the coin at all Krayinvestbank branches. The circulation is limited,” the message says.
The cost of the coin is 5 thousand rubles. On one side there is an image of the peninsula with the coat of arms of Crimea, on the other there is a profile of the English Queen Elizabeth.
Niue is an atoll in the Pacific Ocean that makes money by issuing collectible coins. The Niuean dollar is not a true currency and was never intended for official circulation, although it is accepted as a means of payment in Niue.
Sberbank of Russia has been ordering Niuean dollars since 2008. The first coins were dedicated to the Olympics in Sochi. Last year, the Niuean dollar was issued by the Crimean bank RNKB. The coin was dedicated to the Crimean Bridge.
Krayinvest was one of the first Russian banks to start operating in Crimea in 2014. In 2015, he was included in the US sanctions list.
