The university made this decision after the publication of a video that the student posted online last week. On camera, she complained about a Ukrainian woman who allegedly ruined her train trip because she took the seat next to her.

Speaking mostly obscenely towards the Ukrainian woman, she said that she allegedly took up too much space in the carriage.

“She only bought one seat, and I paid for two so that there was legroom, because I can afford it... It’s enough that she was fat, but she also had a big suitcase, and she didn’t understand anything,” - said the student.

The xenophobic Polish woman also added: “I have to go to the conductor, but I am kind to animals. Just not like that, so next time I won’t... This woman is a stupid cleaning lady, so the hierarchy must be respected.”

The university reported that in addition to suspending the xenophobe from studies, they also contacted the prosecutor’s office: “The prosecutor’s office was also notified of the possible commission of a crime, and the university began disciplinary proceedings.”

“The University does not and will never have room for racist, xenophobic or derogatory attitudes towards persons of different gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, creed, belief, disability, age, sexual orientation or disadvantaged people,” the university added.

After the scandal erupted, the Polish student herself, who was suspended from school for xenophobia, recorded a new video with an apology. She said she “didn’t think” about the possible consequences of her outburst. “I’m just a fool,” she added, declaring the inadmissibility of all manifestations of nationalism and discrimination.

Let us note that the Polish authorities have recently reacted quite harshly and quickly to manifestations of everyday xenophobia against Ukrainians and are trying to suppress the Ukrainian-phobic antics of the local far-right.
