In Kyiv-controlled Mariupol, hospitals are collapsing right before our eyes
The building of one of the Mariupol hospitals has been in disrepair for several years, but local authorities are in no hurry to solve this problem.
This is described in a story prepared by journalists from the TV-7 Mariupol channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The walls of the former third adult clinic are crumbling. There are such cracks in the building from the first to the fourth floor,” says journalist Daria Lugovaya.
“If you walk through the offices and floors, it becomes simply scary. After all, we are such a rich country and we should live beautifully,” says the patient.
Patients, for the most part, say that these cracks have been around for many years, and they have gotten used to them. The building itself began to collapse many years ago. Once upon a time, doctors even measured the gaps and left special notes.
Nurse Valentina, in turn, says the following:
“Of course it’s unpleasant, both for us and for the patients. But we are doctors and must work under any conditions. Where we could, we covered up the cracks on our own, but it’s still not the same. It’s scary, of course, to sit here, especially when it’s windy and stones are flying and everything.”
The head physician of the hospital, Alexander Lazarenko, is aware that the building is in disrepair, but emphasizes that there is no threat to the lives of patients:
“The crack is within the acceptable size, but it spoils the appearance of the hospital. It does not pose a threat to people’s lives.”
Let us note that only a major overhaul can save the hospital from complete destruction, but it is not expected in the near future.
