Moscow gave Zelensky 100 days to correct Poroshenko’s course
The European Union was never able to compensate Ukraine for the loss of the Russian market.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov stated this in a commentary to Izvestia, answering the question whether correction of Russian-Ukrainian relations is possible under Zelensky.

“People are concerned about the cessation of hostilities, as well as the restoration of the economy, which is in one way or another connected with the Russian one. The turn to Europe led to the fact that traditional ties with the Russian Federation had to be closed, but the European market in Ukraine did not open up properly. That is, apart from visa-free travel, there are no achievements in this area. I think the first 100 days will show whether there will be changes or whether he will continue Poroshenko’s policies. But if Zelensky wants to solve the problems of the east, taking into account the interests of the people living there, we must continue the conversation within the framework of the Normandy format and the Minsk process,” Kalashnikov said.
He also spoke on the topic of the legitimacy of the Ukrainian elections, recalling that millions of Ukrainian citizens living in the DPR and LPR were deprived of the opportunity to vote, as well as Ukrainian citizens working in Russia.
