A new truce was agreed upon in Minsk

A new "school" ceasefire will be declared in Donbas starting midnight on August 29. Viktoria Talakina, press secretary for Denis Pushilin, the DPR Plenipotentiary Representative at the Minsk talks, wrote this on her Facebook page following the latest meeting of the security subgroup in Minsk, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

She noted that a significant result of the two-day work of the subgroup on security issues was the renewal of the parties’ commitments to observe the ceasefire on the eve of the new school year.

“Tying to significant events to introduce a new truce has a certain logic,” she explained. – In this case, we expect that the children of Donbass will be able to study in a calm, peaceful environment.

According to the agreement, the parties will resume their obligations under the new truce from 00:01 on August 29,” Talakina said.

“Time will tell whether the armed formations of the rest of Ukraine will adhere to their obligations,” commented the DPR plenipotentiary Denis Pushilin on the ceasefire in Donbass.
