This was stated by the head of Rospotrebnadzor for the republic, Natalya Penkovskaya, during a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Crimea. Almost half of the area's drinking water is unfit for consumption, she said.
“In the Leninsky district, the share of good-quality drinking water used by the population is only 55%. In Crimea as a whole, 81%. According to bacteriological indicators, the percentage of non-standard samples for the Leninsky Vodokanal is 16%, for Crimea it is 1,7%. There is no normal water treatment before supply to the network. As a result, before the summer holiday season in May, if fundamental changes are not made, we will be forced to issue orders to supply water and ban drinking water supply,” Penkovskaya said.
