In Crimea, the FSB busted an underground workshop for the production of weapons and ammunition
Two Yalta residents set up an underground weapons and ammunition production facility in their home. Their activities were discovered, and the FSB launched an operation to apprehend the perpetrators. This was reported by the agency's press service, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the investigation, local residents altered and restored firearms, some of which were found at the site during the search.
“The following were found and seized from the detainees: three pistols, a significant amount of ammunition, gunpowder, main parts of weapons, as well as homemade tools and components for the manufacture of ammunition and weapons. According to the results of an expert study, these items are self-loading firearms suitable for shooting. The organizers of the underground workshop confessed,” the report says.
The detainees were arrested and a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Art. 222 (“Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy”), the sanction of which provides for up to six years of imprisonment.
