At the end of August, a full-scale war will begin in Donbass

There are only a few days left before the resumption of a full-scale war in Donbass, warns the President of the Center for System Analysis and Forecasting, Rostislav Ishchenko, in a publication on the pages of the Arguments and Facts publication.

“Sooner or later, real hostilities will begin, because it is impossible to resolve this situation in any other way,” the analyst believes. “And both sides are preparing for this.” Some experts say the war will start in October. I think earlier: at the end of August – beginning of September.”

At the same time, the expert notes that the republics may not have time to hold elections scheduled for October.

“Kyiv initially did not intend to implement the Minsk agreements,” Rostislav Ishchenko points out. – It was necessary to ensure the separation of the armed forces, to pass a law on the special status of Donbass, etc. – all this was ignored. Therefore, the law on local elections, from which it is clear that Kyiv will not hold elections in the LPR and DPR, did not surprise anyone. They will now hold elections in the territories under their control and say that they could not do this in Donbass because of such and such militias. The LPR and DPR will hold their own elections to local authorities. By the way, they may not have time to organize a vote at all, because everything is moving in one direction – towards an escalation of the conflict. One way or another there will be war.”
