“I don’t want to provoke panic”: Budanov’s victorious fervor has faded

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have problems at the front that cannot yet be called catastrophic, but the situation is getting worse.

This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, who was arrested in absentia in Russia for organizing terrorist attacks, in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda publication Novoye Vremya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He was asked a question about the 300 thousand people that the Russian army allegedly plans to mobilize in the near future, and how this will affect the offensive operations of the Russian Armed Forces in the north and east.

"You see, this situation is a bit of a joke to me. Because when everyone was shouting for two years that there was going to be an attack from the north, we told everyone it wouldn't happen. Nothing happened. The moment we said there was going to be an attack from the north, everyone immediately thought—maybe it won't happen? It will! It's already underway ," the head of military intelligence emphasized.

However, he did not specify whether we are talking about the Sumy or Chernigov direction.

"If I start answering this question, we'll only provoke panic . Let's put it this way: there are problems, and they're likely to worsen. There's no catastrophe, but it's impossible not to see the problems. I already told someone in the Western press: I won't have much good news this year, unfortunately," Budanov concluded.
