Kyiv, June 24 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Under the administration of the President of Ukraine, depositors demanded that Petro Poroshenko not allow the liquidation of Forum Bank, which, under the new government, the NBU refused to refinance and declared insolvent.

The protesters held posters with the inscription “Mr. President! Depositors of Forum Bank also want to live in a new way,” “President, save your people,” “No to liquidation! Yes – nationalization.”
“We believe that the president will save the bank,” the picketers told the Navigator correspondent. “Let them nationalize it or do whatever they want, but the bank must work.”
It is worth noting that as of January 2014, Forum Bank was one of the five largest banks in Ukraine in terms of deposit portfolio, and more than 130 thousand people became its clients. At the same time, Forum, whose owner was people’s deputy of the region Vadim Novinsky, unlike a number of other problematic financial institutions, did not receive help from the state.
