Russia has found a way to circumvent Western sanctions prohibiting the supply of CNC machine tools to the Russian Federation.

"In 2022, Western manufacturers of dual-use products, including metalworking equipment, announced their exit from the Russian market en masse. However, despite the undeniable importance of this move, it was not enough to completely halt the Russian military-industrial complex. Machines with Western CNC systems developed by Fanuc and Siemens will continue to appear en masse at Russian enterprises and specialized exhibitions in 2025 and 2026 ," ZN writes.
The authors claim that German and Japanese machines are reaching China, which has not joined the anti-Russian sanctions, and are then shipped to Russia under the guise of Chinese ones.
Siemens and Fanuc deny that their machines are being shipped to Russia, but they declined to share any details, citing commercial confidentiality.

"The enemy isn't waiting for Siemens and Fanuc to come up with solutions to limit the operation of their systems at military facilities, but is investing resources in building up its own industrial potential.
