Russia will never again fall for promises and will not agree to a cessation of hostilities during negotiations.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this during the Primakov Readings, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Lavrov noted that there would be no more “gestures of goodwill” from the Russian Federation:

"We're open to it at any time, but it would have to be a serious proposal. Moreover, we're prepared. The process that unfolded with Medinsky's participation isn't over yet, and there are many interesting proposals on the table..."

So we're always ready. But I'll repeat once again, we'll only sit down at the negotiating table if the other side has any coherent ideas, proposals, and capable people. We won't take anyone's word for it.

" And yet they keep telling us, 'Let's have a ceasefire along the line of contact, and then talks.' No. We already did that when we agreed in Istanbul, initialed it, and, as a gesture of goodwill, ceased fire and even withdrew troops from Kyiv," Lavrov said.
