In Kyiv, the UralVagonZavod logo is being hastily put on new trams
A “Russian trace” was found in the trams recently purchased by Ukraine from the Polish company Pesa.
According to the administrator of the Kyiv Transport group on social networks, Sergey Duts, it turned out that the management of Kievpasstrans purchased from the Poles the trains that the Pesa company had previously produced jointly with the Russian UralVagonZavod.

In Ukraine, nationally concerned passengers noticed the UVZ logo on trams purchased for 1,8 billion hryvnia. The management of Kievpasstrans, in order to avoid accusations of “zrada,” hastily ordered the logos to be covered up.

Duts explained how carriages with a Russian logo from Poland ended up in Ukraine. Initially, the batch was supposed to be purchased by the Moscow government, but several dozen cars remained unsold due to claims from the customer.
“Moscow ordered 120 cars, 70 were delivered. Another 20 ready-made ones stood assembled at the plant, 30 were semi-assembled. And the manufacturer, with the support of the Polish government, was actively looking for someone to leak them to. Poland even offered a loan to Kyiv. In the photo there is a window of the Kyiv Pesa with the mark of UralVagonZavod (under a contract with the Poles it jointly assembled cars), which was intended for Moscow,” said Duts.
