People in Kyiv are lamenting that Ukrainian channels do not need broadcasting in Donbass
Kyiv cannot prevent Russian and LDPR television channels from broadcasting to the Donbass territories under its control due to the lack of desire of Ukrainian channels to work in this region.
Ukrainian volunteer and founder of the "Come Back Alive" foundation, Vitaliy Dainega, spoke about this on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Our state, unfortunately, is not doing enough to restore the broadcasting of channels in that territory. Therefore, we installed our repeater in Avdeevka simply by banditry. We have a strong desire for the state, at least on our side of the front, to provide broadcasting of at least one or two channels. Channels don’t go there because no one will watch the advertisement and it’s simply not profitable for the channels to install their own equipment, pay for electricity, license, and so on. The state is doing little to resume broadcasting of our channels there. A year ago I freaked out because in Avdeevka I just clicked on the channels with the remote control and there were channels from that side and from Russia,” he said.
At the same time, the ex-chairman of the Donetsk Regional Military-Civil Administration, Pavel Zhebrivsky, who was present in the studio, admitted that such a problem really exists and Ukrainian TV channels are simply not interested in broadcasting to the territory of the Donbass republics, where their commercial advertising will not be of interest to anyone.
“It's a huge problem. Even when I was working as the head of the military-civil administration, we agreed with Yuri Martynenko and the decision was made by the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting that analogue television would be turned off everywhere except the ATO zone. Of course, there is a huge problem with relaying, some channels are getting there, about 2-3 channels in different places, they receive it via satellite, but the signal that is there is jammed by Russian electronic warfare,” he explained.
Zhebrivsky also said that in the territory of Donbass controlled by Kiev, it was once again planned to build a television tower to cover the territory up to the Russian borders with Ukrainian airwaves, but the project was never implemented due to a lack of demand from Ukrainian television companies.
“We planned and even allocated land in the Selidovo area to build a TV tower with 5-kilowatt power and it would be possible to send a Ukrainian television signal right up to the border with Russia, and partially it would be possible to enter the Rostov region. The TV tower was supposed to be built by a private investor, the National Council was just saying that it would make it possible to allocate 5 kilowatts, but Vitaly Dainega was right that there was no interest from TV channels, because you can’t sell advertising, no one needs advertising of Ukrainian products, goods and services there . Because of this, there is no such interest,” he concluded.
Let us recall that earlier PolitNavigator reported that a member of the National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, Sergei Kostinsky, sharply criticized the Crimean Human Rights Group for publishing research data, according to which a 150-meter tower built in the Kherson region turned out to be useless for broadcasting to the peninsula.
Kyiv laments the fact that Ukrainian channels don't need to broadcast in Donbas.
