Kiev admitted that even Russia will not be able to force Donbass to voluntarily return to Ukraine
The people who remained in Donbass have felt the taste of independence from Kyiv and will no longer want a Ukrainian protectorate.

This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by the former editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Izvestia in Ukraine” Yanina Sokolovskaya, who today acts as a political expert.
“Now, two years after the war, I would not overestimate Russia’s influence on Donbass,” the expert said. – Those people who remained in Donbass not because they do not have enough money to leave and find work in the rest of Ukraine, but those who stayed there deliberately, we must admit this, are absolutely not aimed at being under the protectorate of Kiev. They felt the taste of weapons, the taste of war, the taste, as the horses believe, of independent life. They liked the taste. And even if Russia says that now Ukraine will be here, these people will not go under the protectorate of Ukraine voluntarily - it will still be military operations. We need to understand this.”
Kyiv has acknowledged that even Russia cannot force Donbass to voluntarily return to Ukraine.
