In Kyiv they figured out how to rob a business fleeing the country
The Kiev leadership should introduce a register of sanctioned assets, which will make it possible to more effectively and quickly seize property from people fleeing the country.
The head of the expert organization StateWatch, Gleb Kanevsky, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are a lot of assets, they have already been identified, most have already been arrested. We have prepared recommendations that can eradicate Russian business from Ukraine during martial law.
The first thing to do is asset confiscation. This is the most effective procedure, and the Ministry of Justice must be strengthened as much as possible right now, we cannot wait. The Ministry of Justice should receive a large number of lawyers and budget money specifically to organize the process of searching for information on assets and their confiscation. Because there are a lot of cases, but there is only one Ministry of Justice,” Kanevsky said.
He said that many entrepreneurs continue to deftly avoid confiscations.
“The second thing to do is to create a register of sanctioned persons. Because while the Ministry of Justice is collecting information on what to confiscate and filing a lawsuit, we do not have a register of sanctioned property. And we record real facts when property is registered in the name of some entrepreneurs from other countries, and this later complicates confiscation in court.
There must be a register so that all authorities, including notaries and banks, receive information about this property and understand that it must be blocked, and no actions can be taken with this property until the Ministry of Justice confiscates it,” added Kanevsky .
