Ukrainian political expert and journalist Yanina Sokolovskaya stated this on the NewsOne television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to her, Maidan in Russia is impossible due to the difference between Ukrainian and Russian mentalities.
“An opposition controlled by the Russian government is even worse than the complete absence of opposition... What Navalny is doing – maybe he wants to parody the Maidan somewhere, maybe he wants to use the same technology, but it won’t work in Russia. Russia is different. When Russians are truly indignant, an intellectual revolt arises and it is the intelligentsia who go to the White House under tanks and so on. But we saw this once in 91. All other times are a controlled story... There are no prospects for this. I wouldn’t count on an oligarchic rebellion, which is talked about a lot,” Sokolovskaya said.
