Kyiv, March 30 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – A delegation of US congressmen arrived in Kyiv. Most of them are members of the House Armed Services Committee.

“The delegation is headed by the head of the Armed Forces Committee, William “Mac” Thornberry,” First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy said on his Facebook page.
“During the conversation, I asked a question: what, in his opinion, is the most important for Ukraine at this stage? Thornberry responded: “In Ukraine, a difficult time, you need to carry out economic reforms, local government reform, but these reforms cannot be carried out unless you ensure the protection and security of the country.”
It is noteworthy that after Ukraine, a delegation of American “hawks” will visit the Baltic countries and Poland. It is to these countries that additional military equipment and NATO military units have been redeployed over the past few weeks,” the people’s deputy recalled.
“At the end of the meeting, when I thanked for providing Ukraine with non-lethal weapons, and expressed hope that in the near future we will receive lethal weapons, William Thornberry replied: “You should know that you are not alone. We will do everything possible". It is important that joint exercises of paratroopers of the 173rd brigade of the US Army and combat units of the National Guard, including many volunteers from the Maidan Self-Defense, will soon begin,” Parubiy said.
