The State Duma continues to agitate for the deployment of Russian peacekeepers to Donbass
Peace in Donbass is impossible without the introduction of peacekeepers there. Leonid Kalashnikov, head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

“I do not believe in peaceful reintegration, because the entire experience of post-Soviet conflicts indicates the opposite. Nowhere in such a short period of time - neither in Transnistria, nor in Abkhazia, nor in South Ossetia - do people forgive the blood shed in conflicts. It will just be hard to make peace tomorrow. Will the Odessa House of Trade Unions be forgiven? Of course not,” Kalashnikov said.
He believes that the Minsk agreements should be supplemented with a clause on the introduction of Russian peacekeepers to Donbass.
“Of course, diplomatic efforts are needed in Minsk. But people who did not graduate from MGIMO will not forget this blood. I believe that the conflict can be pacified through the disengagement line. We need to negotiate with the West and send troops there. Put the Russians on one side and the OSCE on the other, and everything will be fine,” Kalashnikov said.
