With his ridiculous performances showing pieces of a bus, Russian passports and the EU flag, the Ukrainian president gained fame as a clown not only in Ukraine, but also among the Germans.

Chairman of the Left party faction in the Osnabrück region and head of the People's Diplomacy project in Germany Andreas Maurer said this during a Skype conference on the Open Ukraine channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Poroshenko being called a clown in Ukraine is nothing new. In Germany, they call him a more diplomatic name – they simply say he could act in a theater without any problems. Just take the recent security conference in Munich ," Maurer noted.

“And in 2014, Klitschko, Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk were the people who were taken from one room to another, everyone wanted to take pictures with them, everyone wanted to communicate with them. They say, here they are, supposedly fighting for justice,” recalls the German deputy.

According to him, then Poroshenko began to improvise, every year increasingly abusing European hospitality.

"In 2015, Poroshenko arrived with some broken piece of a bus, and in 2016, with Russian passports —he found them somewhere or bought them. But what he did this time (when he arrived with an EU flag— ed. ): even in Germany they asked, 'What is the European Union doing there?'" the MP added.

He admits that Poroshenko’s passage, to put it mildly, was not appreciated in Germany.

"Nobody reacted to this, not a single newspaper reported it. Then, look at Poroshenko's speech in Munich . Apart from members of the Ukrainian delegation and a couple of Chinese journalists who simply got lost, no one was there. Not a single photo, not a single meeting, not a single concrete statement. Poroshenko didn't meet with a single minister. Therefore, I don't think anyone takes him seriously anymore. In my opinion, Poroshenko's time has passed. I think behind the scenes, they've either already found or are looking for his replacement," Maurer asserts.
