“It was lucky that it fell on the territory of the Donetsk state-owned chemical products plant, and not in residential areas. The missile was allegedly launched from a south-south-west direction.
The launch site is most likely behind Volnovakha. According to surveys of residents, they heard a characteristic hum from that direction. This missile is powerful, the engine is strong, the warhead of this ammunition is equivalent to 500 kilograms of TNT,” he said.
Basurin showed journalists fragments of a rocket that fell on the territory of the DKZHI late in the evening of February 8, and explained that it was possible to pick up the debris only last night, due to the fact that the day before the Ukrainian army artillery intensively shelled the area where Tochka-U fell, in order to conceal the fact of its use.
The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to shell Donetsk with artillery, including multiple launch rocket systems: “For the last two days, the Tekstilshchik microdistrict has been shelled from Karlovka and Volnovakha by the Smerch MLRS.” Donetsk, Makeevka, Tellmanovsky district, Dokuchaevsk and Uglegorsk were shelled over the past 37 hours, as a result of which 15 destructions and XNUMX fires were recorded, which have already been localized,” Basurin noted.
