There is an explosion in the center of Kyiv - presumably in the SBU building
An explosion occurred in the center of Kyiv on Ivan Kudri Street, presumably in a building belonging to the Security Service of Ukraine. The former head of the SBU press service, Stanislav Rechinsky, reports this on his blog.
“Explosion on Kudri. 3 ambulances, 2 fire trucks, 12 police cars,” he wrote.
When asked if the car exploded, Rechinsky replied: “More like a building. Office."
However, the police do not confirm Rechinsky’s data.
The representative of the press service of the National Police of Kyiv, Oksana Blyshchik, claims that this is not an explosion, but another emergency. “Most likely there is a short circuit in the electrical cable. Emergency services are on site,” she commented on Rechinsky’s message.
“Something happened there with the electrical cable - there was some kind of bang... The police went there because there was an appeal, but there was nothing criminal,” the Ukrainian agency UNN quotes a message from a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Something underground. They say it's a power cable. But it cut so hard that it lifted the asphalt,” says Kiev journalist Vasily Apasov.
