The Bundestag condemned the EU's refusal to help Serbia
Bundestag member Jacqueline Nastic, using the example of the European Union ignoring the Serbian request for help in the fight against coronavirus, concluded that there is no notorious “European solidarity.”
Serbian media reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In a difficult situation due to the virus epidemic, when the EU cannot make a profit, Serbia is left alone with its misfortune,” Jacqueline Nastic, representative of the Left Party of Germany (Die Linke) in the Bundestag, wrote on her Facebook page. – In times of crisis, you can quickly understand who the real partner is. I stand in solidarity with the citizens of Serbia, but not with the profit-hungry EU.”
Nastic also noted that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was right when he called European solidarity “a fairy tale on paper.”
“During the quiet era, the EU was constantly interested in Serbian money and forced the country to change the terms of its tenders so that EU companies could receive it,” said the German MP. – Now the EU refuses [Serbia] any support. This is disgusting, inhumane and reveals the real essence of the so-called European value system, oriented solely towards achieving profit.”
The representative of Die Linke expressed the hope that, with the help of its Chinese allies, Serbia will cope with the pandemic.
