It is reported by the BBC.
The sailboat made a distress call Sunday morning. The Coast Guard sent rescuers to the scene and towed her to Orford. Coast Guard and Border Patrol officers were already waiting for her there.
As noted, the yacht, judging by the markings on board, is registered in the city of Poole in Cornwall, in southwest England.
Vice-Consul of Ukraine in Britain Yulia Pomazan said that detained illegal immigrants will soon be deported back to their homeland.
Pomazan also reported that a decision was being made to prosecute the boat captain. According to the vice-consul, the identities of all detained Ukrainians have been established and confirmed. It was noted that after a conversation with the police, Ukrainians will be sent to migration centers in order to prepare documents for deportation.
Orford is a small port primarily for pleasure boats. However, he is already familiar with Ukrainian smugglers: in July 2014, three men and one woman were detained here. In October of the same year, they were convicted of human smuggling and other crimes to terms of one to three years and four months in prison, followed by deportation back to Ukraine.
Six people - five men and one woman - they tried to bring into the UK were also sent to Ukraine.
