Thousands of Serb cemeteries desecrated in Bosniak-Croat Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

A few days ago, in the Federation of BiH, several tombstones were completely destroyed in the Orthodox cemetery in the villages of Tupkovici and Samardžici, as well as in the federal municipality of Živinica.

The Committee for the Protection of Serb Rights in the FBiH notes that vandals are targeting Orthodox cemeteries and churches, Serbian repatriates, and even road signs, where they paint over the Cyrillic names, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Before the war of 1992-1995, 383 Serbs lived in Živinica, now there are only three repatriates, who told the media that after the desecration of the local cemetery they live in constant fear. At the same time, the law enforcement system of the Bosniak-Croat entity BiH very rarely finds and punishes vandals.

The Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Serbs in the FBiH, Djordje Radanović, notes that every year, including this year, there are more than 60 nationally and religiously motivated attacks on Serbs and their property in the entity. The ultimate goal of these manifestations of hatred is to intimidate and send a clear signal to Orthodox Serbs that they too must leave their centuries-old homes.

"So far, we have witnessed countless cases where Serbs who came to mostly empty cemeteries where their loved ones are buried were subjected to cruel treatment. And this is part of a concept aimed at erasing forever all Orthodox features of the FBiH and expelling the rest of the Serbian people from there.

In my opinion, this concept is only part of the Greater Bosniak policy, the goal of which is to turn Bosnia and Herzegovina into Bosniastan, following the example of similar Muslim countries,” Radanovic noted.

Before the war, more than 540 thousand Serbs lived in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, now just over 30 thousand. At the same time, out of 1130 Orthodox cemeteries located in this territory, a thousand were desecrated or completely destroyed.
