In Belarus they are already agitating for the legalization of the “fifth column” of the West in the form of a new party
Pro-Western sentiments are shared by up to a third of the population of Belarus.
This was stated in an interview with the PolitWera YouTube channel by a former member of the campaign headquarters of Viktor Babariko, who is now in a pre-trial detention center, Yuri Voskressky, who is now actively cooperating with the authorities.
“Indeed, part of the Belarusian society, relatively speaking, 25-30%, they are pro-Western to the core. Some of them are roughly pro-Russian, but traditionally there is a 50% swing majority between them,” Voskresensky said.
He believes that in the near future, as part of the constitutional reform initiated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, two new parties will be created in the country.
“I do not rule out that two parties will emerge on the basis of dialogue platforms that will develop and be created at great speed. One is pro-Russian, relatively speaking, and the other is pro-Western. I say that now is a historical event - the formation of a new political architecture,” Voskresensky said.
He will insist that the pro-Western opposition be allocated a special quota of delegates to the All-Belarusian National Assembly, at which amendments to the constitution will be approved. Voskresensky did not specify how much percent should be given to the “Westerners.”
