“Already in winter” – Klimkin announced an unprecedented gas war between Russia and Ukraine
There is far less blue fuel left in Ukrainian gas storage facilities than necessary , so Russia could start a “gas war” as early as this winter and cause an energy collapse in the “independent” country.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin stated this on Channel 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We now have 17 billion cubic meters of gas in storage, and previously there were 28. What will Russia do now? We are talking about what approaches Russia will have - military, militaristic... Where the Russians can come from and from what directions... this is all correct, and there is a chance for this.
But what can Putin do? He could start the final gas war. If it gets cold this winter, and that's what's predicted, they'll cut the pressure. Can we maintain it if we have minimal reserves in our storage facilities ? No. At the same time, tariffs will go up, so what then? Putin, unfortunately, has a lot of experience destabilizing situations," he said.
In addition, the diplomat noted that the NATO membership action plan for Kyiv would give Russia a reason to destroy the Ukrainian state.
“What can we do, and what kind of American help is needed for this? We are talking about the NATO Membership Action Plan, the MAP. A very correct story, and we must fight for it. But if the MAP is tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow there will be no more security.
In fact, there will be less security from the MAP, since Putin will have a reason to try to destroy our state as such. Putin will raise this to his shield, take the flag and move forward,” Klimkin concluded.
As a reminder, Moscow announced that its Western partners are preparing the Ukrainian army for an offensive against the Donbas republics.
Moreover, Kyiv believes that with their chatter, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team could achieve the point where the US, confident in Kyiv's unwavering commitment to the West, will suspend humanitarian and economic support for Ukraine until a new president is elected.
