The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church considers the activities of the “exarchs” of the Patriarchate of Constantinople anti-canonical and violating interfaith peace in Ukraine, and also calls on them to leave the canonical territory of the UOC.

The Information and Educational Department of the UOC reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At the meeting of the Synod, the activities of the “exarchs” were called a violation of the canonical territory of the UOC.

The “Exarchs” of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylia and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton, must leave the canonical territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The episcopate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is to suspend concelebration with the hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Constantinople,” the decision says.

PolitNavigator previously reported that the Patriarchate of Constantinople had begun preparations to grant ecclesiastical autocephaly to the schismatic Kyiv Patriarchate. Two exarchs from the United States and Canada have been dispatched to Ukraine for this purpose: Archbishop Daniel of Pamphilon and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton.
