The Uniate speaker with a certificate undertook to interpret the Orthodox canons
Constantinople canceled the annexation of the Kyiv metropolis and the Ukrainian church by Moscow, which allegedly took place in 1686.
Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Andrey Parubiy stated this within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The first point of the decision of the synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate announced the process of granting autocephaly to the Ukrainian local Orthodox Church, and most importantly, the annexation of the Kyiv metropolis by Moscow in 1686 was cancelled. It was not only the church that was annexed. This was an attempt to annex our memory, our history and our spirituality,” the politician said.
The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted that after the council of all church hierarchies in Kyiv, the primate of the established church will receive a tomos of autocephaly from Bartholomew.
“Historical truth has won, as it always does with any empire. I am sure that in the near future an All-Ukrainian Orthodox Council will take place in Kyiv, in which all hierarchies and patriots of Ukraine will take part, who will proclaim the creation of a single local Ukrainian Orthodox Church. After the unification council in Kyiv, His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew will present the primate of the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church with a tomos of autocephaly. This will actually be a formal action after the Ukrainian Council,” Parubiy said.
Let us note that the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada is a parishioner of the Greek Catholic Church, which is dependent on the Vatican.
Let us recall that the Patriarchate of Constantinople declared Ukraine its canonical territory and legalized the schismatics.
In response, the Russian Orthodox Church completely severed Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
A Uniate speaker, with a certificate, took on the task of interpreting Orthodox canons.
