Ukro-TV: “Big cities are surrounded, and then it’s just a police operation to eliminate the garrison”
The Russian Armed Forces are using reasonable tactics, bypassing large cities and cutting off their supplies. And it is right that such obvious things are being voiced so that the population will not have any questions later.
This was stated on the Espresso channel by the reserve major of the National Guard of Ukraine, Oleksiy Getman, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
He commented on a report by the American Institute for the Study of War, which “allows” that Russia is delaying the capture of large cities in Ukraine in order to advance through open territories.
"From a military point of view, it is quite a reasonable tactic. Fighting in a large city can take many months, even years. Therefore, any army tries to bypass large cities, and either completely surround them, or at least block the ability to supply everything necessary to the garrison that is holding the defense there, and move on. It is desirable, of course, to surround. And then conduct not even a military, but a military-police or exclusively police operation in order to somehow eliminate those who do not surrender.
Our military command sees this very well and is trying to do everything possible to prevent the enemy from doing this. Cities are being fortified, approaches, logistical routes to these cities are being protected as much as possible so that the enemy cannot block them. And battles in the field - here depend on mid-level commanders and fortifications that should have been built," answered Getman.
"He didn't say anything new, these are things that are obvious to many military personnel or those interested in military topics. But they are not obvious to everyone, so sometimes you have to voice obvious things, say them anyway, so that there won't be any unnecessary insinuations later," the reserve major added.
