Ukraine faces dire social consequences due to the cessation of Donbass industry

Kyiv, February 16 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – In the zone of active hostilities in the Donbass there are the largest industrial enterprises of Ukraine, if lost, social collapse will occur in the country. Ukrainian sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko stated this on the air of the talk show “Evening”.

According to him, due to the conflict in the east, the country has already lost orders worth $17 billion.

“We said that Donbass lived on subsidies. It turned out that 25% of exports came from there; in the zero years, 10% of the annual currency was provided by the Ilyich plant alone. That is, what losses are happening now, and they are already irrevocable. And the deindustrialization of the country will lead to dire social consequences,” Kopatko said.
