They want to take Ukraine as a “sensitive nerve” for abandoning Crimea
Russia must non-militarily force Ukraine to recognize Crimea as Russian, which will lay the foundation for recognition of the Russian status of the peninsula in the international arena.
This was stated by the Crimean representative to the President of the Russian Federation, Georgy Muradov, at the conference “Crimea in the Modern International Context,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The politician emphasized that another path to recognition is a personal agreement between the presidents of the United States and Russia on this.
“We need to push Ukraine to recognize the Crimean referendum. Then everything will begin to be resolved automatically. Because it is useless to persuade one Western country at a time, they all said, they say, we support the Ukrainian position, and this opinion cannot be changed so easily. Therefore, we need to take a sensitive nerve that can play. Or persuade Washington. Because I think that if Putin and Trump agree, then everything will be resolved by itself. But Washington is not ready for this yet. But if Kyiv and Washington mature, it will be even better,” Muradov said.
Russian political scientist and Americanist Andranik Migranyan agreed with him.
“Then the Westerners and Americans will follow the path they took in the case of the Baltic republics. Very often I hear, and it irritates me greatly, when they say that the Americans and the West never recognized the Baltic states as part of the Soviet Union, completely forgetting and ignoring that in 75, in the Helsinki Act, in the first basket, this was written down. They agreed that the borders established after the Second World War are inviolable and legitimate. I think that the West will recognize it if Ukraine also recognizes it,” Muradov emphasized.
Ukraine is being targeted for a "sensitive nerve" to renounce Crimea.
